Yirgacheffe coffee beans originate from the Yirgacheffe region in southern Ethiopia, within the renowned Sidamo area—one of the world’s most prestigious producers of specialty coffee and part of the original homeland of the coffee plant.
Grown at high altitudes in a temperate climate and fertile volcanic soil, Yirgacheffe coffee is celebrated for its clean, elegant flavor profile, highlighted by delicate floral and citrus notes, a smooth tea-like body, and bright, well-balanced acidity.
Grade 1 represents the highest quality level in the Ethiopian coffee grading system, determined by the minimal number of defects in green beans and exceptional cup cleanliness. With only 0–3 defects per 300g, Grade 1 beans are meticulously hand-sorted, delivering a clean, vibrant, and defect-free cup. They are frequently classified as Specialty Coffee, particularly when achieving 85+ cupping scores.
